On 24 July, at least 20 people have been killed and more than 100 are missing in floods after an under-construction dam collapsed in southeastern Laos. Flash floods swept through six villages, causing 6,600 people to be homeless, according to Lao News Agency. Local authorities have appealed to government agencies and non-profit communities to render aid and provide clothing, food, drinking water and medicine. AFP News Agency also reports that there is no phone signal in the flooded area.
