Volunteer Spirit

All of us are created in God’s image;
yet as individuals each of us is unique.

We have special talents and skills that can be utilised to help others in need.

"We can do no great things,
only small things with great love."
Mother Teresa

Why volunteer?

For many people, volunteering is a natural extension of themselves. So the answer to the question “Why Volunteer?” is obvious – because we can! All of us are called to fulfill our Catholic Social Mission, and if we have the capacity and capability, volunteering should be something that we should all endeavour to do. But for many of us, it is often a case of “the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak” – some may want to volunteer, but don’t know how or don’t know where to start.

What can I do?

Volunteering, or giving of one’s self to help others, does not have to involve large complex volunteer initiatives. It can be as simple as offering your skills to help us with our work (e.g. copywriting, graphic design, photography) or it can involve using your professional expertise to provide pro bono services, or going on a humanitarian relief initiative/mission trip … the list of opportunities to volunteer is endless.
