Typhoon Nesat and Typhoon Nalgae have wreaked destruction in their paths through Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand. Exceptional early and prolonged heavy monsoon rains since July 2011 have inundated Thailand with flood waters rising as high as 5 metres.
Some 700 people have died and over 13 million people are displaced and without proper shelter and essential needs.
Besides responding to the needs of victims in these countries with monetary aid and essential relief supplies, CHARIS together with Loveseeds, ACTS, acts29 and the Filipino community, are organizing a special Holy Mass to pray for the well being and recovery of our sisters and brothers in Christ.
Come join us to pray in solidarity for our sisters and brothers to heal, build and restore their lives.
